Have standards changed over the years? Arguably — but not always in the way you might think. People expect a constant slackening of Hollywood standards, but bear in mind that prior to 1984, there was no PG-13 rating. That meant some eyebrow-raising content made it into PG films in the 1970s. Heck, in 1972, two of the Top 10 highest-grossing pictures in America were rated X (Behind the Green Door and Fritz the Cat).

Which is all to say that figuring out what things were rated in the Seventies can be rather tough. You've likely seen all these flicks. After all, they are all incredibly popular.
