Do you know these famous comic strips by just the characters' eyes?
You've seen them in the Sunday papers. Can you recognize them up close and personal?
One of the benefits of parents getting their Sunday papers was when they would slide the funnies over to their kids. Everyone had a little bit of the paper, and though the jokes may not have always made sense, the images in those windows stay burned into the memories of newspaper readers for generations.
Comic strip art has been around for the majority of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, with its unspecified roots grounded somewhere late in the 1800s. Prior to this, political cartoons and satirical drawing would grace the columns of the local paper. It wasn't until 1893 that Americans met The Little Bears, the first comic strip to present recurring characters in a publication.
There are some characters you could never forget. Others take a second look to remember the faces. We're curious to see if you can name these comics strips based on a very unflattering close-up. Do you remember these comic strip faces? Take your best shot!
