On April 19, 1934, a movie premiere turned a little girl into Hollywood’s darling. “Stand Up and Cheer” starred five-year-old Shirley Temple. The child star was a triple threat being able to sing, dance and act. Temple captured the hearts of moviegoers with her adorable curls and smile. She quickly became one of Hollywood’s biggest box office draws and best known child actor.
