Heidi Game

What became known as the “Heidi Game” was a matchup between the New York Jets and the Oakland Raiders on November 17, 1968. With a little more than a minute to go in a tight game, Joe Namath took the Jets down the field. After a field goal the Jets led 32-29. Just as the Raiders returned the kick NBC cut to a commercial and then began airing the movie 'Heidi'—never returning to the ongoing game. Meanwhile, the Raiders scored two touchdowns in nine seconds to win 43-32. And thanks to 'Heidi,' no one got to see it.
