Golden Gate Bridge

Construction on the Golden Gate Bridge began January 5, 1933. With a $35 million dollar budget, thousands of workers signed on for what would be the largest engineering project ever built. The behemoth enterprise would take millions of pounds of steel suspended hundreds of feet in the air stretching for nearly two miles. The Golden Gate Bridge took four and a half years to complete.
