Andy Griffith told the story of Frosty the Snowman in a Rankin-Bass production

The names of Rankin-Bass are almost synonymous with "holiday television." Everyone has a favorite special that they enjoyed as a kid, but there's one notable sequel that you may have forgotten starred your favorite officer of the law.

You might remember the classic story of Frosty the Snowman, and how he came to life with the help of an old silk tophat that the local children found. He danced about the village and played with his new friends, but had to hurry along to the North Pole before the weather became too warm for him to handle. Classic tale.

But do you remember how Frosty met his wife? The sheriff of Mayberry is here to tell you all about it!

Andy Griffith stars in the 1976 Rankin-Bass classic Frosty's Winter Wonderland. Not only does he narrate the sweet story of how the children build Frosty a snow-wife to keep him company, but he also sings in this whimsical adaptation. You can hear him on the title song "Frosty the Snowman" and on the classic song "Walking in a Winter Wonderland."

Griffith isn't the only surprise guest to make an appearance; the voice of Frosty's new wife, Crystal, should sound familiar. That's Shelley Winters, who appeared as Ruth Owens on Wagon Train and as Ma Parker in Batman. Winters returned to reprise the role of Crystal in another Rankin-Bass special entitled Rudolph and Frosty's Christmas in July

It just goes to show the good ol' Andy Taylor can always be counted on for a heart-warming story and a happy tune to hum on your way.
