Night of Broken Glass

Kristallnacht. The literal meaning is "Night of Crystal," or "Night of Broken Glass.” The term often used to describe the atrocities that took place in Germany on nights of November 9 and 10, 1938, when the Nazi’s carefully organized the destruction of thousands of Jewish homes, businesses and synagogues, while police and fire brigades stood by and did nothing.
