General Electric Theatre

In the 1950s and early 1960s one of the largest companies in the world had a megaphone unlike any other. General Electric’s, “General Electric Theater” made its television debut on February 1, 1953, on CBS. The eclectic half-hour program featured the country’s biggest stars and made sure to leave plenty of room to boast the GE name, including its host: future President Ronald Reagan.
