Retrospectacle: Rubik's Cube

It’s a toy that is at the same time simple and complex. The six-sided, twisting puzzle known as the Rubik’s Cube was designed to stump and frustrate. The cube was born out of a geometry lesson by Erno Rubik, a Hungarian professor of architecture. It became a hit in the early '80s and remains permanently entrenched in pop culture today.
