I Love Lucy's season four California road trip, stop by stop

In I Love Lucy's fourth season, Lucy Ricardo and company left their New York home for Hollywood. But what started as a one month trip for Ricky’s big break turned into a ten-month stay — and a ratings success in real life.

Writer Jess Oppenheimer first came up with the Hollywood inspiration when thinking of ways to reinvigorate their story ideas. In no time, fellow writers Madelyn Pugh and Bob Carroll jumped on it and incorporated their own memories of traveling cross county.

With the California episodes currently airing on Decades, we wanted to put together a photo album. Check out the gang’s California trip below.

1

Start: 623 East 68th Street, Manhattan, New York

Don't go looking for this Upper East Side apartment building. It's a fictional address. In fact, with that street address, the Ricardo home would be somewhere in the East River.
