I Love Lucy's season four California road trip, stop by stop
In I Love Lucy's fourth season, Lucy Ricardo and company left their New York home for Hollywood. But what started as a one month trip for Ricky’s big break turned into a ten-month stay — and a ratings success in real life.
Writer Jess Oppenheimer first came up with the Hollywood inspiration when thinking of ways to reinvigorate their story ideas. In no time, fellow writers Madelyn Pugh and Bob Carroll jumped on it and incorporated their own memories of traveling cross county.
