Their inevitable demise came on May 23, 1934, in a deadly ambush down a Louisiana state highway; it finally brought their two-year crime spree to an end, along with their lives. Decades after Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker eluded authorities, the deadly duo still captivates the eyes and ears of the public. Their robberies escalated into murders, and the pair gained national notoriety after pictures were released of Bonnie holding a cigar in one hand, and a pistol in the other.
