John Glenn & The Mercury 7

John Glenn was part of the Mercury 7, NASA’s first group of seven astronauts. He was tasked with the mission to orbit the Earth three times within five hours. Boarding the Mercury capsule Friendship 7 on February 20, 1962, he launched into orbit circling the globe at more than 16,000 miles per hour. He completed the mission under time in four hours and 56 minutes.
