Former Governor George Ryan on Death Row Clemency
"I am a firm supporter of the death penalty. I believe if you take an innocent life, you forfeit your life." This comes from a man, Rolando Cruz, who was on death row himself for 12 years. Wrongfully convicted, after 4,473 days he was finally set free. And on January 11, 2003, then Governor George Ryan granted clemency to all remaining death row inmates.
