Before he became the first man to walk on the moon, Neil Armstrong was one of 12 pilots to test the X-15 Rocket Plane. On April 20, 1962, going five times faster than the speed of sound, he set a record. This flight was both the longest in time and distance than any other X-15 flight…but it could have gone terribly wrong.
